Henna For Hair

Q: Is it safe to use henna?
A: Henna is a natural product and is safe to use.

A: Should I need to pre-shampoo my hair before using henna?
Q: Yes, it is always better to apply henna on shampooed, dry hair.

Q: Should I need to conduct a strand test before using henna?
A: Yes, it is always better to carry out a strand test to determine beforehand the length of time you need to leave the Henna on hair to get the desired colour.

Q: Can I mix two henna colours together?
A: Yes, mixing different colours can result in unique shades.

Q: Can I use henna to lighten my hair?
A: Henna does not lighten hair. If you don’t want to colour your hair, you should use our Colourless (Neutral) Natural Hair Conditioning Henna. This Henna conditions and nourishes the hair without changing the existing hair colour.

Q: Is a patch/sensitivity test really necessary?
A: Yes, it is always recommended to carry out a patch/sensitivity test before using any Hair dye product. This test determines whether some allergy against any of the ingredients present in the product exists or not. But do not worry, as the patch test is really very simple to perform. To check sensitivity, wash with soap and water a small patch of skin on the inner wrist. Apply paste on the patch and allow it to dry for sometime. If there is no irritation, inflammation or any other discomfort in or around the area of the patch, it may be assumed that no allergy to the product exists and you may go ahead and use the hair dye.

Q: I currently use a chemical colour treatment. Can I switch to Henna right away?
A: Yes, Henna is a natural alternative to harsh commercial dyes. The sooner you use it, the sooner you’ll notice the difference.

Q: Is it safe for women who are expecting?
A: Expecting mothers should always consult their doctors before hair colouring.

Q: How much does Henna cost compared to chemicals based hair colour products?
A: Henna is the most economical way to colour your hair. Henna is substantially less expensive than any of the chemical based hair colours. Henna application also tends to last longer.

Henna For Tattoo

Q: I wish to draw Henna tattoos on my skin with natural henna. What colour will I get?
A: Depending upon your body chemistry and skin type, Natural Henna will give red colour tones on your skin ranging anywhere from Maroon to Deep Red to Orange-Red. The colour of henna you will finally get will also depend upon the length of time the henna paste is left on skin.

Q: Can Natural Henna give colours like green, yellow, violet, black, blue, golden, etc., on skin?
A: No, Natural Henna cannot give any of the above colours on skin. Natural Henna can give only red colour tones on skin. Depending upon your body chemistry and skin type, Natural Henna will give red colour tones on your skin ranging anywhere from Maroon to Deep Red to Orange-Red.

Please beware not to use tattoo products that give black, green, violet, blue, golden colours, etc., on skin. These tattoo products do not contain henna but contain harsh chemicals, which can cause severe skin allergies. Remember Natural Henna Tattoo products can give only red colour tones and are safe to use.

But the bigger benefit is that Henna is totally safe when compared to the pigment dye tattooing in which the dye is injected under the skin with the help of needles. The dyes used for tattooing are chemical based and hence prone to reaction and may cause irreversible damage.

As is well known, henna has been extensively used to decorate hands and feet in various Asian countries since times immemorial. Today, this harmless and safe concept has been adopted by the Western countries too where people have always been more outgoing and experimentative. Their desire to decorate their bodies has always set new trends. But the inflexibility attached with the use of chemicals to draw tattoos, which apart from being permanent in nature and painful to draw can also cause skin allergies and carry many other risks. This has led the people to look for harmless and safe Natural items that can be used without causing any harm and pain and can be replaced in short span of time. Hence, Henna is the ideal NATURAL product that meets all the requirements.
